The Airport Advisory Commission is composed of seven members appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of City Council. The Commissioners shall serve terms of four years. All persons appointed to the Airport Advisory Commission hold office during the pleasure of the City Council. A minimum of four of the Commission members shall be residents of the City of Rio Vista, one commissioner must be an aircraft owner or airport tenant and three commissioners must be current or former aircraft pilots.
The Airport Advisory Commission shall be responsible for the following:
1. Planning proposed changes in City land use policies which affect the airport upon the request and reference from the City Council;
2. Consulting with and advising the City Council in formulating City policies regarding the economic development of the Airport as a component of the overall economic development strategy of the City;
3. Studying and analyzing those matters which have been referred to it by the City Council relating to fees, rental schedules, and standards of service of the municipal airport for the purpose of evaluation and recommendation of policy.

Any member of the Airport Advisory Commission who misses three consecutive regular meetings, without the consent of the City Council, shall be deemed to have resigned and the City Council shall be free to appoint a successor to fill the vacancy so created.
