Rio Vista City

Group Studying the Beach Sewer Rates

The following meetings have been scheduled at the Rio Vista Airport at 5 p.m.:
September 21, 2011
The group reviewing the monthly Beach wastewater fee met September 14th. The City’s Engineer, Director of Public Works and Veolia personnel presented a list of necessary CIPs in the year to be undertaken during the scheduled fee cycle. The order of priority was based on a need/risk assessment. Of particular importance was an assessment of the needed repairs of the River Road and Marina lift stations. It is essential that the repairs not hinder renovation of the lift stations when converted sometime in the future to pumping sewage from the Beach plant to the Northwest plant when the former is decommissioned.

All CIP cost estimates were in 2011 dollars. Inflation estimates to be used in the fee schedule analysis were from 2.0 to 2.8%. The definitive values will be decided at the next meeting.

Seven of the known eight area sewer pipe problems are specified in the City’s $4,500,000 financial aid application.

The next meeting will be Wednesday September 21st at 5 PM at the airport.
