Education and Qualifications: High School graduate - San Mateo High School, some college level courses, 12 years of active duty in the US Navy as an electronics / cryptology technician, 8 years partnership /owner Custom Marine Canvas business. The last 14 years; and currently working for DES Inc, a filter press manufacturing company, developing new proprietary manufacturing processes here in Rio Vista.
Married for 32 years with two grown sons, and I am a 25 year Rio Vista resident. Living and working locally shapes my practical, sober, fiscally conservative perspective of issues that I will bring to the City Council; Historically, I’ve made regular attendance at council and community meetings, where I was an active participant, intent on bringing good governance and financial accountability to Rio Vista.
My primary objective is to bring fresh determined leadership to solving Rio Vista’s financial problem, the primary cause of which is the derailed dual sewer system. Rio Vista only requires one sewer system, and the associated reduced utility rates.
My final focus will be to make citizens feel welcome to participate and share their perspective on any issue.
